One hour from Lisbon, a holiday home and two cabins enthroned on a sandy beach. It is the successful rehabilitation of an old fisherman's house, carried out by designers duo. A heavenly house imagined in a unique and warm setting ... That's what a vacation just by images. We love.

Mixing the raw materials and vintage design, simplicity and refinement, interior designers Daniel and Thierry Suduca Mérillou reinvented a wooden house and two huts of fishermen resting on the sand. With timeless chic version of a holiday home.

One hour from Lisbon, eye sand, the sea and surrounding rice paddies, slow time to the horizon ... Comporta is the weekend haunt of Lisbon high society and intelligentsia easy. But shhh, no one here is that the noise from spreading.

Between Comporta and decorators, the story began there about fifteen years. At each visit, they experienced the unique feeling of softness diluted in the air, happy to put your feet in pristine nature and casting off for an authentic region.

When it was proposed to them to rehabilitate an old fisherman's house, the story was a natural, as if by instinct. Vernacular building placed on the dune kept the stigma of a newspaper in modest comfort. Its narrow rooms were painted in unexpected colors in order to brighten up the space but this setup made them forever unsuited to our times.

"We broke the walls in favor of better breathing", explains the duo who landscape four bedrooms and bathrooms. And the other rooms, the kitchen-dining room, the living room? Around the building of origin and his fig tree in majesty, two new huts slightly different size are built in pure local tradition, rice straw roof, horizontal timbered wood and whitewashed walls ... bluffing and authenticity of experienced, you'd swear they were always there.

While the site is entrusted to Nuno Carvalho, unrivaled master of this ancestral knowledge, the friendly advice of the landscape architect Louis Benech favor plant species suitable for growing in the sand such as stone pine, arbutus and myrtle. Between forest of cork oaks and prickly pears, the sun dictates the vanishing points on the landscape.

Life revolves around him, partly on terraces, best spots in the art of living in Comporta: kitchen hand, meals are taken in the shade of Cannisses; under the canopy of the main pavilion, benches and hammock favor the siesta; evening orange lights splashed the lounge terrace. The aim of the designers was to convey home the stylish and warm atmosphere of the Colombe d'Or in Saint-Paul-de-Vence.

Successful bet ! Interior walls and whitewashed beams of a monastic whiteness, raw materials and poor, straw, reed, string, raffia take turns as a rhythmic sequence around beautiful vintage pieces. Here, Calder, Gio Ponti and also Mallet-Stevens, Royere, Lurcat live freely place. On the terrace, the bed signed Charlotte Perriand sunbath. At the moment, this well-being experienced is nothing more than a sense of refinement diluted in paradise holiday atmosphere.
